How can I volunteer for Super Bowl XLIII?
The Host Committee estimates it will need 6,000 volunteers to serve in various capacities during Super Bowl week. Those interested in applying can click here to complete the official application.

What types of volunteer opportunities are there?

NFL Experience
Volunteers will assist with the management and supervision of interactive football games and displays. Included in this family oriented theme park of activities are autograph signings, player and coach radio and TV interviews, entertainment and food.

Airport
Volunteers will provide a sunny welcome and helping hand at Tampa International Airport and St. Petersburg /Clearwater International Airport during game week. Volunteers will also communicate game, event, transportation and hospitality information to visitors, plus distribute approved Host Committee publications.

Hotel
Volunteers will provide a sunny welcome and helping hand at local hotels during game week. Volunteers will also communicate game, event, transportation and hospitality information to visitors, plus distribute approved Host Committee publications.

Transportation
Volunteers will direct guests to appropriate shuttles and check credentials as NFL guests' board shuttles. Volunteers may also be asked to ride on the shuttles to assist drivers with directions and greet NFL staff or sponsors.

Office
Volunteers will perform general office duties (i.e. answering phones, faxing, copying, data entry and calling other volunteers to verify application and scheduling information). Shifts are available in January and February 2009.

Is there an age requirement?
All volunteers must be at least 18 years of age by November of 2008. A valid drivers license or state identification may be used as proof of age. Volunteers must agree to a background check required by the NFL. Volunteer opportunities will be provided on an equal basis without regard to age, sex, race, religion or disability.

How many shifts do I have to work?
Volunteers must be available to work a minimum of two 4-hour shifts.

What type of training is provided to a volunteer?
All volunteers will be required to attend one training session pertaining to their assignment.

What if a volunteer does not have a way to get to their assignment?
All volunteers are required to have reliable transportation.

If I volunteer, is there a chance that I will get Super Bowl tickets?
There are NO Super Bowl tickets available to volunteers.

Can I volunteer to work inside the stadium during Super Bowl XLIII?
There are no volunteers placed by the NFL on game day inside Raymond James Stadium.

Do I have to pay for a volunteer uniform?
Volunteers will receive a complimentary Host Committee uniform.

Where will volunteers park?
The Host Committee will provide complimentary parking for all volunteers. Each volunteer assignment will have a specific parking location. Parking information will be provided during the volunteer information and training sessions.

Can I bring family members or friends with me to my shift?
No family members or friends are allowed while volunteers are on duty, unless they are scheduled to work at the same time.


Questions About Online Registration and Scheduling

How do I change my scheduled shift or edit my personal profile?
  • Click here to visit our Volunteers page
    • Select "Click Here To Complete the Volunteer Application or Log In to Update Your Itinerary."
    • Select "Register Now."
    • Enter your e-mail address and the password you established during registration. Your itinerary will come up, and you will be given two options: "Edit Itinerary or Edit Profile."
  • Edit Itinerary-Allows volunteers to change scheduled shift times but only within the same volunteer area (e.g. NFL Experience, transportation, etc.).
    • To change your shift times, proceed by selecting "Edit Itinerary."
    • Select your desired shift by checking the adjacent boxes, or remove a shift by clicking "remove."
    • After you've updated your itinerary, select "sign up for the selected items."
  • Edit Profile-Allows volunteers to edit all personal information.
    • To change your profile information, proceed by selecting "Edit Profile."
    • Change the desired information, and be sure to re-enter your password.
    • After you've updated your profile, select "update."
Can I volunteer in more than one area (i.e.; transportation AND hotel)?
Volunteers can only assist in one area. However, it is possible to switch from one job type to another. Please email volunteers@tampabaysuperbowl.com if you would like to switch your job type.

When will I be notified if I'm approved to volunteer?
If you have received a confirmation e-mail detailing an itinerary of at least eight hours, your registration is complete pending a background check. The NFL will conduct background checks on each Super Bowl volunteer this fall. You will then be notified if there are any problems or issues with your registration.
