7/7/08 – HOST COMMITTEE NEARS 6,000 VOLUNTEER GOAL
The Tampa Bay Super Bowl Host Committee today announced that more than 5,000 area residents have completed the official online volunteer application. As of Monday afternoon, 5,053 volunteers have signed up to participate in the Host Committee’s volunteer program sponsored by Gerdau Ameristeel.

4/28/08 - HOST COMMITTEE RECRUITS 3,000 VOLUNTEERS IN LESS THAN A MONTH

4/17/08 - EMERGING BUSINESS RESOURCE GUIDE LIVE ONLINE
Today the Host Committee launched its online Emerging Business Resource Guide. A key component of the NFL Emerging Business program, this online tool will give NFL Contractors and purchasing entities easy access to a comprehensive list of area minority- and women-owned businesses. The guide represents approximately 50 different business categories, including those more frequently used by NFL purchasing entities.

4/10/08 - MEDIA GENERAL SIGNS ON AS FIRST OFFICIAL SPONSOR
The Tampa Bay Super Bowl Host Committee announced today that Media General’s Florida Communications Group properties have signed on as the first official Host Committee sponsor. This includes The Tampa Tribune, WFLA-TV (NBC) and TBO.com. As the local NBC affiliate, WFLA-TV will broadcast the game locally.

01/03/07 - Tampa Bay Ready to Start the Clock
As Tampa Bay prepares to start the countdown clock on Super Bowl XLIII, the Tampa Bay Super Bowl Host Committee recently launched its new Web site, www.TampaBaySuperBowl.com. The site will serve as the online portal for news and information surrounding the big game, which will take place at Raymond James Stadium on Feb. 1, 2009.

5/25/05 - The Super Bowl is Coming Back to Tampa!
Confirming the confident talk of the Tampa Bay Super Bowl Task Force, the 32 National Football League team owners voted on Wednesday to hold Super Bowl XLIII in Tampa's Raymond James Stadium. It will be the fourth Super Bowl played in Tampa and the second in Raymond James. The home of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers most recently played host to the big game in January of 2001.
