More than 350 local minority- and woman-owned businesses offering a variety of goods and services are listed in our Emerging Business Resource Guide. Here is a sampling of a few of the businesses you'll find in the guide.
Color Pages Inc.Since its inception in 1989, Largo-based Color Pages has been on the cutting edge of technology in the printing industry. It was the first area company to print from a digital printing press and the first to utilize a large format inkjet printer.
The combination of up-to-date technology and experienced, personable employees has paid off. Color Pages recently won several awards from the Printing Association of Florida.
The company prides itself on the high quality and quick turnaround time of its work, from brochures and postcards to banners and signage, and is excited to participate in the Emerging Business program for Super Bowl XLIII.
To president Barbara Royston, the Super Bowl “is a very large opportunity for us to promote our company—our quality, our capabilities—and to show our commitment to the Tampa Bay community in helping it shine during this event.”

Bermudez Investigations Inc.
After a combined 40 years in the law enforcement and loss prevention industry, Jeffrey Bermudez and Louis Politano established Bermudez Investigations in February 2008 to provide superior services and add professionalism to the private security industry. Since then, the firm has grown to 26 employees and has set its sights on becoming the largest private security employer in Florida.
Bermudez Investigations provides complete private investigative and security guard services, including armed guards, permanent guarding and security patrols. To assure the high quality of its work, the agency makes it a point to hire former law enforcement officers or military personnel and requires its employees receive training beyond what the State of Florida mandates.
The Tampa-based firm has the capability to cover most of the state, but according to Bermudez, its relatively small size is the company’s “key to establishing a long-lasting, professional relationship with our clientele.”

e-Fit FoodsEleven years ago, one of personal trainer Erin DeMarines' clients asked if she could make a healthier version of her grandmother's cookies.
"So," DeMarines explains, "I experimented in my kitchen until I came up with a balanced cookie."
The "cookie" that DeMarines created became the 3BAR Energy Bar and quickly caught on among friends, family and several area gyms. Now her business, e-Fit Foods, sells 3BAR Energy Bars in over 250 health food stores as well as bike shops and Publix and Sweetbay grocery stories. The bars-which are Vegan, Kosher and free of wheat, gluten, cholesterol, Trans fat and GMO-are completely natural and made with organic ingredients.
DeMarines describes the Emerging Business program as "truly exciting" and is looking forward to the many opportunities available with an event of this size.
"As an athlete and female business owner, it is a dream come true to come this far!"
