4/28/08 - HOST COMMITTEE RECRUITS 3,000 VOLUNTEERS IN LESS THAN A MONTH
The Tampa Bay Super Bowl Host Committee today announced it has reached the halfway point in its goal to recruit 6,000 volunteers for Super Bowl XLIII. This achievement comes less than a month after the online launch of the official volunteer application.

“The response has been tremendous,” said Dottie Berger MacKinnon, chair of the Volunteer Services Committee. “To be halfway to the finish line in such a short time frame really speaks to the enthusiasm Tampa Bay residents have for both their community and the Super Bowl.”

4/17/08 - EMERGING BUSINESS RESOURCE GUIDE LIVE ONLINE
Today the Host Committee launched its online Emerging Business Resource Guide. A key component of the NFL Emerging Business program, this online tool will give NFL Contractors and purchasing entities easy access to a comprehensive list of area minority- and women-owned businesses. The guide represents approximately 50 different business categories, including those more frequently used by NFL purchasing entities.

4/10/08 - MEDIA GENERAL SIGNS ON AS FIRST OFFICIAL SPONSOR
The Tampa Bay Super Bowl Host Committee announced today that Media General’s Florida Communications Group properties have signed on as the first official Host Committee sponsor. This includes The Tampa Tribune, WFLA-TV (NBC) and TBO.com. As the local NBC affiliate, WFLA-TV will broadcast the game locally.
